 The front yard of this comfortable ranch house in Los Altos was ready to be updated. The new curving borders along the street soften the straight lines of the house. The size of the lawn was reduced and drought tolerant plants such as penstemon, gaura, breath of heaven, escallonia and germander were planted.
In Spring and Summer this garden pulsates with life, being visited  by all manner of butterflies and other insects and birds. By incorporating evergreen plants and winter blooming perennials, it beautifully holds its own, providing color and form all year long.
